My First Blog: Blogging

A. Blogs are a place to publish textual and media based on the internet for others to see and make comments on if they choose to do so. These blogs are supposed to be a more personal way of sharing information and make it more visually appealing to the readers. Blogs also tend to be much more graphically pleasing then plain text, as the publisher can choose different kinds of font, backgrounds for their blog homepage and several other personalized graphical enhancements.

B. Blogs are useful for sharing information and media with others and are a great place to connect or reconnect with friends and acquaintances

C. Blogs are a very different form of writing because they can include different types of media, and allow others to make comments on your posts. Rather than just providing someone with information or thoughts, blogs allow for others to get the information you are publishing, but on a much more personal level. The commenting feature makes publishing information much more like a conversation rather than just text and pictures. Others are able to respond to the blog posts and express their feelings as well, thus making the blog a place on conversation, not just information.

D. Blogs are an extremely effective way of extending learning in the classroom for several reasons. The fact that the posts are personal and can be viewed by others makes classroom learning capable on a much more personal level where classmates as well as the teacher to be involved in a different way than that in an actual classroom. It also provides an opportunity for others to express their thoughts without having to be in class, allowing for better articulation of ideas and expressions. This is an extremely different experience than that of the classroom, yet it can still contain the same content in a different format that many can easily access and understand.
